[Pamela McCown, DTM, PID](https://toastmastershouston.com/event-speaker/pamela-mccown-dtm-pid/) - Pamela McCown joined Toastmasters in October 2001 at JPMorgan Chase bank as a member of a selected group of protegees within a corporate Diversity Mentoring Program. She has focused her learning and discovery on the leadership opportunities that the Toastmasters program offers. Her journey in club support and club building began soon after becoming a Toastmaster as she was invited to introduce a session speaker at a November district conference and then participated in a new club launch meeting in the following January. After serving in club and district leadership roles, Pamela ran a successful campaign for the office of International Director and was elected to serve as International Director on the Toastmasters Board of Directors in 2009-2011. She was awarded the prestigious Toastmasters Presidential Citation at the Toastmasters 2014 annual Hall of Fame event in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, recognizing her outstanding work in building new clubs. We asked her to create and present this Leadership Executive Development session to share her insights on the Toastmasters leadership opportunities. Please join us in welcoming Past International Director, Distinguished Toastmaster, Pamela McCown to expand our understanding of the opportunities that await those who will discover and explore the leadership path. - [Terrie Green, DTM](https://toastmastershouston.com/event-speaker/terrie-green-dtm/) - [Curtis Scroggins, DTM](https://toastmastershouston.com/event-speaker/curtis-scroggins-dtm/) - Curtis Scroggins, DTM, has been a dedicated Toastmaster since 2004, proudly representing Region 4 and District 8 while supporting Districts 8, 19, 30, 35, 54, and 103. His leadership journey spans more than a decade of service, including roles as Region 4 Advisor for 2024–2026, District Director, Immediate Past District Director, Program Quality Director, and Club Growth Director. Throughout these terms, Curtis earned distinguished recognition, including the Excellence in Education and Training Award and the Excellence in Marketing Award, reflecting his commitment to developing leaders and strengthening the Toastmasters experience. Curtis believes the foundation of effective leadership lies in availability, empathy, active listening, and a genuine willingness to help. He focuses on guiding leaders toward their own solutions, building their confidence, and ensuring they always feel supported. Known for his organization, institutional knowledge, and collaborative spirit, Curtis brings a learner’s mindset and a deep desire to see others succeed—valuing team achievement above individual credit. A powerful goal setting session begins with the spark that reminds people they are capable of far more than they realize. During this first session on Goal Setting, Curtis will encourage participants to step boldly into their potential, transform vague ambitions into clear, energizing targets, and build the momentum that turns intention into achievement. It’s not just about writing goals—it’s about igniting purpose, unlocking confidence, and creating a roadmap that makes success feel exciting, attainable, and inevitable.
