Online Leadership Electives – There are (8) eight Online Leadership Electives scheduled in August.  Take advantage of these FREE, optional continuing education electives designed to give you the tools needed to be an effective, successful leader.

Club Presidents and Secretaries: Club Proxy or Voting? – Calling all Club Presidents and Secretaries.  The International convention is right around the corner and it is your duty to VOTE.  Do you need help with club proxy or voting?  Register for the online “Club Presidents – Club Proxy/Voting for International Officers and Directors” electives on August 5 or August 20^th.  REGISTER at: https://toastmastershouston.com/calendar/

Smedley Award – Can your club add five new, dual, or reinstated members with a join date between August 1 and September 30?  Accomplish this goal and you’ll qualify to receive a Smedley Award ribbon and a special 10% discount code for you next club order from Toastmasters International.  Better yet, be the first 20 clubs to accomplish this goal and you will receive $50 in Toastmasters International gift certificates from your Club Growth Director.

Area Director Visits/Reports – Area Directors serve as a liaison between the District and their assigned clubs.  Club visits are opportunities for the District, through the Area Director, to support clubs and improve club quality.  Working together to build quality, sustainable clubs!

Year-End District Celebration – Save the Date of August 29, 2020 – Join us on August 29, 2020 for the first virtual Year-End District 56 Celebration.  We will recognize and celebrate all your accomplishments throughout the 2019-2020 Toastmaster year.  Attend the DTM Ceremony to celebrate the 40+ members who achieved their hard-earned goal. Congratulate the commitment and dedication of members who excelled within their Clubs, Areas, Divisions and throughout the District.  REGISTER at: https://toastmastershouston.com/calendar/

District Challenge – Are you uncomfortable with our new normal?  A journey begins with a single step.  As John F. Kennedy said, “we do these things not because they are easy but because they are hard.”  As our new year has started, we challenge you to write a successful ending to your Toastmaster year now.

Plan for success by completing you Club Success Plan.  The first 50 clubs to send in a copy, signed by at least 4 officers, with a photo to [email protected] will receive $25 in Toastmasters International gift certificates.
